“Traditional litigation places individuals in an adversarial position which is hard to rectify once the case resolves. The collaborative divorce process allows individuals to work as a “team” to find creative solutions that meet the needs of their unique family. The family court is designed to work within the confines of the law which significantly stifles creativity. Like snowflakes, each family is different and, therefore, a “one size fits all” traditional approach is often not conducive to meeting the needs of families. Collaboration affords divorcing couples the opportunity to remain resolution focused as they transition to their next chapter.”
